2012-. . . .  :  … do we play now, or what?

.
I was born in 1956.
I read about Duchamp for the first time in November of 2011: Duchamp confisqué, Marcel retrouvé by Philippe Sers (Edition Hazan, Paris 2009).
I got to know ‘Etant donnés’ and realised what the work was about.
I started analysing other works and I understood more and more.
I thought it was important that you should see it as well: Duchamp’s last wish.
You may blame me with pornography.
I have only passed The Keys  on to you, together with a very long visual story.
You have been looking through his glasses, all this time.
You will now look forever the way Marcel Duchamp did.
You will play along in his game of ‘hide and seek’.
I just wanted to be the first to yell: “1-2-3-DUCHAMP!
I wish you more and more visual and playful fun,
I salute
you.

Dedicated to Hilde Lauwers

Thank you Philippe Sers, who provided the ball,
and thank you Ann, Carine, Hilde, Jan, Johan, Leonoor and Pieter,
who helped to decide which direction it should roll.
